Latest advancement in limb lengthening & deformity correction is llizarov Hexapod system. It is a revolution in the field of deformity correction and limb lengthening. It is a manual robot and works with a computer software. It provides six axis correction of the deformity. Deformities of bone like angulation, translation, rotation, shortening/lengthening can be corrected accurately.
Department undertakes short term training programme and observership is arranged for orthopedic surgeons interested in limb reconstruction, deformity correction and limb lengthening. Department holds basic and advance llizarov course yearly. On 25th March 2012 (Sunday) a CME on ‘Complex Lower Limb Trauma’ (Recent Advances and Multimodality Approach) will be held at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
